Capital’s iconic gallery reopens
Offering a fresh and engaging perspective on Kuala Lumpur’s past, present and future, the Kuala Lumpur Gallery in the Sultan Abdul Samad Building has reopened to visitors.
Completed in 1897 during the British colonial era, the property is one of Malaysia’s most recognisable architectural landmarks, renowned for its striking Moorish-inspired design, copper domes and commanding clock tower overlooking the capital’s Merdeka Square.

The reopening of the gallery marks the return of an important cultural space in the city centre. The newly enhanced exhibition area features dynamic multimedia installations, interactive storytelling elements and visually compelling displays tracing Kuala Lumpur’s evolution from its origins as a tin-mining settlement to the vibrant modern metropolis it is today. Each section has been carefully curated to provide historical depth while appealing to contemporary audiences.

Celebrating history, culture and national identity, the gallery represents a thoughtful revival of heritage presented through a modern lens. For bookings and enquiries, please contact Asian Trails Malaysia – MICE.
