Mandatory health declaration required from July 2026

From 1 July 2026, Vietnam will introduce a new mandatory health declaration requirement for all arrivals and departures across the country’s airports, land border crossings and seaports.

This new requirement is in addition to the new digital arrival form, which was recently introduced at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City.

Travellers will be required to complete the health declaration either electronically or via a paper form within seven days prior to travel. Forms will be available in both Vietnamese and English, while additional languages may be introduced depending on global public health conditions at the time.

Health quarantine officers will be stationed at border entry and exit points to review declarations and monitor travellers. In cases where a potential health risk is identified, officers may conduct on-site inspections, including document verification and epidemiological interviews relating to travel history, preventive measures undertaken and any symptoms of infectious disease.

A link to the online health declaration form will be shared once available. For more information or advice about current travel requirements, visit our Vietnam Fast Facts page or contact Asian Trails Vietnam.
